Our Texas Wild
We have launched a new campaign in Texas– Our Texas Wild.
Our Texas Wild is dedicated to the protection of wildlands, water and native wildlife through the education of people. Our mission is to promote permanent protection for wilderness-quality public lands in Texas, and to preserve Texas’ biodiversity through the protection of rivers and other wildlife corridors. A key project in our work today is the designation of more than 700,000 acres of Wilderness in two of our state’s premiere National Parks, Big Bend and Guadalupe Mountains. To this end, we are working to educate our elected officials and raise public awareness about the need to protect our wildest lands and the native wildlife that depend on these lands for habitat.
Our Campaigns:
Wilderness for Big Bend and Guadalupe National Parks
700,000 acres of wild lands, in which man is a visitor who does not remain.
Let’s keep them wild for generations of visitors to come.
Rio Grande/Rio Bravo River International Park
Now is the time to realize President Franklin Roosevelt’s dream of an international, trans-border park.
Big Bend Wild & Scenic River
The Rio Grande winds through the heart of Texas’ culture and history. This beautiful river deserves FULL protection and Wild and Scenic recognition.
